It’s a cool story, but before anyone gets too excited, if they had put that money in the stock market, average returns would put it at around $600k. Of course they wouldn’t have been able to drive it for 15 years, but they also wouldn’t have had to pay for repairs, restoration, or 40 years of storage.
In any event, it’s a great story about someone who clearly loves their car, but by focusing on the amount its worth the article is missing the point.
